During a private session, we complete a workout by spending time developing better mechanics, and learn how to move more efficiently. Drills comprise some of the one-on-one work, because they isolate ground-contact and focus athletes on a true range of motion. When drills and proper form are rehearsed regularly, new movement becomes routine and natural. This is the best place to begin if you are curious about how to run well. Running Mechanics
The nuances of running mechanics are vast, whether you are a sprinter, middle-distance, or endurance athlete. They are the foundation for building a better running style, and becoming a better runner. When a runner moves better, s/he will cover ground more efficiently (using less energy), move more economically (using less oxygen), and become more powerful (recruiting unused muscles).
The type of running an athlete does each week is critical, but the way in which one does so is just a important. There is more to running properly than training well, and the running itself is worth as much study as the pace, intensity, and duration of the day-to-day work. Every day and every step must be executed well, with good form, to reinforce habits of sound mechanics.
