Speed work is the fastest way for you to become a faster, stronger, and more economical runner. It focuses on specifically training certain elements that your body relies on when running. We do tempo runs to train your lactic threshold, intervals (Vo2max) to strengthen your lungs and increase your oxygen intake, and repetitions to perfect your running form and increase physical strength. All of this is a science that you don't have to worry about if you don't want to. All you have to do is show up. You'd be surprised, it can be a lot of fun, especially when you see the drastic improvements your running takes.
